TARWA N-TINIRI
DESERT BLUES
Tarwa N-Tiniri que significa, en lengua amazigh, “los hijos del desierto”. Provienen de la ciudad sureña de Ouarzazate en Marruecos. Inspirados en bandas famosas de blues del desierto como Tinariwen, Tamikrest y Bombino, el objetivo de estos jóvenes músicos es convertirse en la nueva generación internacional de bandas de blues del desierto. Cantan sus canciones en lengua amazigh acompañadas de sus voces, palmas, guitarra acústica, guitarra eléctrica, percusión, calabaza y bajo, expresan las condiciones sociales de los pueblos nómadas de su región y refrescan el género con energía y creatividad. La música de Tarwa N-Tiniri tiene sus raíces en los sonidos Amazigh tradicionales y se mezcla y entrelaza con lo sonidos como el jazz, el reggae y sobre todo con un inconfundible sonido de blues del desierto.
Tarwa N-Tiniri es una joven y prometedora banda, que en su corto recorrido ya ha realizado exitosas giras por Noruega y Francia, y seguro que sorprenderán en el resto del mundo con su peculiar sonido. Su objetivo es dar a conocer las culturas nómadas del desierto a través de la música como lenguaje universal.
Tarwa N-Tiniri, which means “sons of the desert” in Amazigh language, come from southern city of Ouarzazate, Morocco. Inspired by well-known desert blues bands such as Tinariwen, Tamikrest and Bombino, these young musicians’ goal is to become the international new generation of desert blues bands. They sing their songs in Amazigh combined with their voices, handclap, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, percussion, gourd instrument and bass; they convey the social conditions of the nomadic people of their land, and revitalise this genre with energy and creativity. Tarwa N-Tiniri’s music has its roots in traditional Amazigh sounds, and it blends and weaves jazz, reggae and especially the unmistakable sound of desert blues together.
Tarwa N-Tiniri are a young and promising band that in their brief career have achieved successful tours around Norway and France, and they will surely surprise the rest of the world with their peculiar sound. Their objective is to make the nomadic cultures of the desert known through music as a universal language.
